Democrats created total chaos during the confirmation hearing for then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
And now, one liberal lawmaker claims the Kavanaugh hearings are to blame for an increase in sexual abuse accusations.
On Tuesday, Rep. Jahana Hayes, D-CT, appeared to link the alleged uptick in sexual assault in her congressional district with the Kavanaugh hearings.
“I want to talk to you a little bit about how this shutdown is affecting the people in my community. From domestic abuse survivors to our rural farmers in Connecticut, this has [had] catastrophic effects in those communities,” Hayes said.
“In my district, Connecticut Five, we house five of the nine domestic abuse and violence shelters in the state. Those shelters are at risk of closing their doors. There’s an uptick in the number of reported incidents of sexual assault and domestic abuse following the Kavanaugh hearings,” Hayes said.
