Was Russia behind the clash between illegal immigration proponents and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi on Monday?
That’s what Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen wondered today on CNN today.
“Who knows who’s stirring up this kind of animosity,” she said.
“What we know about the Russians and their interference in the 2016 elections in that they tried to increase divisions within this country.
“We saw it again in Charlottesville. We don’t know what’s behind this,” she said.
Pelosi was confronted by an angry, jeering mob in San Francisco on Monday.
A group of about 30 so-called “DREAMers” surrounded the House Minority Leader and shouted chants.
The ringleader yelled at Pelosi as she attempted to speak.
Pelosi lost her cool and shouted back.
“If you do not want to listen!” she yelled, before trailing off.
“Where were you,” they chanted, “when we asked…”
“You never asked,” Pelosi responded under her breath.
“And now you have the audacity to tell us that you have been fighting deportation!” the mob chanted.
“Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes, I am! Yes, I am!” Pelosi fought back.
“You are a liar!” the illegals screamed at her as an activist held a sign over her shoulder reading “Democrats are deporters.”
“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Pelosi said, seemingly groping for words.
Her lips and hand quivered as the group continued to heckle her, before accusing them of “not helping the cause.”
“We are the cause,” they mocked.
“Since you don’t want to listen, we’ll have to just go,” Pelosi responded before being led away by a security agent.
