KELLYANNE: Didn’t Need Russia Help- Hillary A ‘Treasure Trove Of Negative Information’

Trump counselor and former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told Fox & Friends on Friday that the Trump campaign didn’t need the Russians’ help to dig up dirt on Hillary Clinton.

Clinton herself “was like a walking, talking treasure trove of negative information,” she said.

Conway argued that the Democratic candidate was her own worst enemy during the 2016 presidential campaign, and questioned whether “Americans are comfortable with the taxpayers funding” ongoing efforts to find alleged collusion between Trump and Moscow.

“Let’s go back to what the purpose of the investigation was: Russian interference in our election. We were promised what Hillary Clinton says was true, where is the evidence of that? That interference affected the electoral outcome?

“Hillary Clinton affected the electoral outcome,” Conway said. “Listen, I was the campaign manager for the winning campaign. I didn’t have to look any further than Hillary Clinton when I wanted damaging, negative information on Hillary Clinton.

“It was all there,” she continued. “She was like a walking, talking treasure trove of negative information. So where is this going? And are Americans comfortable with that? With taxpayers funding this going off on all types of chutes and ladders.”

The comments follow recent revelations that Donald Trump Jr., campaign char Paul Manafort and Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner attended a meeting with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya in June 2016 after promises of compromising information on Clinton.

Trump Jr. and others at the meeting contend Veselnitskaya provided nothing of value, and instead focused on a U.S. sanctions law involving a ban on American adoptions of Russian children.

According to Talking Points Memo:

All three Trump associates involved in the meeting have been asked to speak before the Senate committees looking into Russian meddling in the 2016 election.

Trump Jr. and Manafort are scheduled to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee on July 26 and Kushner will speak to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Monday.

Conway also took aim at the myriad of investigations into alleged collusion between the Trump campaign and the Russians, a charge instigated by a U.S. intelligence community report in January that alleged the Russian government attempted to influence the election in Trump’s favor through an organized hacking and misinformation campaign.

Currently, multiple congressional committees are investigating the issue, in addition to an FBI investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller. Fox & friends host Ainsley Earhardt pointed out that several members of Mueller’s investigative team have made large donations to Democrats in the past.

“This is just a witch hunt,” Conway said, according to Business Insider. “It’s all a hoax, an now they’re going in all different directions, but I think that the information you just shared is relevant information for America to have. People should know what folks’ past and their political motivations are. These weren’t minor donations.”
