Mitch McConnell Says He Believes Moore’s Accusers, Says Judge Must GO

The establishment’s push to prevent Alabama’s Roy Moore from being elected to the U.S. Senate has had the smell of a set-up from the day that the Washington Post published a dubious story on 38-year-old allegations of sexual misconduct.

One of the most stinky aspects was how quickly that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell was all over it – too quickly. Recall that McConnell and his super PAC spent big on Moore’s primary opponent Luther Strange who was whacked by the local legend, in the process dealing a humiliating blow to the marginal Republican senator from Kentucky.

Strange’s loss was a bitter pill for good ole Mitch to swallow, even more so if he would have to lock horns with the arch-conservative within the hallowed halls of Congress which the gutless wonder wants to avoid at all costs.

Moore, however, refused to bow to what has all of the appearances of a planted story and orchestrated smear campaign – the same tactics were used against now President Donald Trump – and has pushed back hard, even threating to sue the Washington Post.

On Monday morning, McConnell dispensed of any illusions that many would harbor about being innocent until proven guilty and announced that he believed Moore’s accusers and demanded that the candidate immediately cease and desist with his idea of becoming Alabama’s next senator.

Via The Hill “McConnell: Roy Moore should step aside”:

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday called for GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore to “step aside,” according to the Associated Press.

His comments come after a report in The Washington Post in which a woman accused Moore of initiating sexual contact with her in 1979, when she was 14 and he was 32.

McConnell was asked if he believes the allegations are true.

“I believe the women,” he said.

Moore has repeatedly denied the allegations.

McConnell’s insistence that Moor must go and now is yet another fishy aspect to this tale. Once again, it was a story that he seemed to have advanced knowledge of and one has to wonder whether he played a part in the creation of this variation on the Fusion GPS dirty dossier.
