Reuters Refers to Violent Antifa Protesters as ‘Peace Activists’

The Reuters news agency referred to rock-throwing Antifa protesters as “peace activists” while covering the violence that erupted following President Trump’s campaign-style rally in Arizona on Tuesday night.

The agency was posting images of the demonstrations between pro-Trump supporters and Antifa radicals on social media when it surprisingly referred to the violent, left-wing hate group as peaceful.

“Pro-Trump supporters face off with peace activists during protests outside a Trump rally in Phoenix,” wrote Reuters.

The backlash on twitter was immediate, with fellow users calling out the news agency for its one-sided reporting.

“Peace activists? You cannot be serious,” wrote one user, while another pointed out the Antifa demonstrators were pelting law-enforcement with rocks and bottles.

While protesters and counter-protesters tangled outside the arena, President Trump called on all Americans to come together following the despicable violence that rocked Charlottesville, Virginia last weekend.

“What happened in Charlottesville strikes at the core of America. And tonight, this entire arena stands united against the thugs who perpetrate hatred and violence,” Trump told the crowd in Phoenix. “I strongly condemn neo-Nazis, white Supremacists and the KKK.”
