As promised, we have our second part of our look farther into the DNC. We will be looking at the party’s platform, beliefs, and goals. There is a lot of information that will be included but not all of it will be expanded on.
For those of you who missed the first part, it covered their leaders and some of the party’s recent activity. It is not a must for you to read the article before this part but it will help you gain a better understanding of why the DNC has some ridiculous beliefs.
So, we will start with the description of Democratic platform and part of the preamble from the 2016 Democratic platform:
Description:
“Our most progressive platform in our party’s history and a declaration of how we plan to move America forward. Democrats believe that cooperation is better than conflict, unity is better than division, empowerment is better than resentment, and bridges are better than walls.”
Preamble:
“Under President Obama’s leadership, and thanks to the hard work and determination of the American people, we have come a long way from the Great Recession and the Republican policies that triggered it”
“Republicans in Congress have chosen gridlock and dysfunction over trying to find solutions to the real challenges we face. It’s no wonder that so many feel like the system is rigged against them”
“And we can have more economic fairness, so the rewards are shared broadly, not just with those at the top”
“These principles stand in sharp contrast to the Republicans, who have nominated as the standard-bearer for their party and their candidate for President a man who seeks to appeal to Americans’ basest differences, rather than our better natures”
“We can and we will build a more just economy, a more equal society, and a more perfect union—because we are stronger together”
Well, they start off by praising former President Obama and blaming Republican policies for the great recession. Then they blame Republicans in congress for not finding solutions to the real challenges we face. They also want economic fairness and rewards to be shared broadly.
On top of that, they claim that President Trump “seeks to appeal to Americans’ basest differences”, which is funny since he still won the election.
The first sentence says it all, this is a progressive agenda. The DNC cannot hide it any longer. It does not take long to see that they want wealth distribution, higher taxes, and everyone to be equal. They blame Republicans for not solving issues but currently, Democrats holding up every change proposed, creating conflict, dividing our country, and are building walls between Americans.
Here is a list of some of the sections from the DNC’s 2016 platform. The italicized text, under each point are my thoughts and are meant to give you a little information about the section.

Raising workers’ wages
We this was a campaign promise from Hillary’s but this would slow our economy and cause job loss. Raising wages will cause for businesses to cut jobs and will cause for the price of goods to increase.
The wage increase would end up happening to all employees and would leave minimum wage employees in the same situation because of price increases of goods.
Raising wages would speed up the transition from people to robots.
Help more workers share in near-record high corporate profits
Well giving profits directly back to employees would take away from company’s capital they could use to expand business, improve workplace, and create new jobs. Companies would not have capital to keep all their employees and invest in technology or expansion.
Expand affordable housing and homeownership
This will just fall right on tax payers. Democrats would have increased taxes to fund affordable housing so, tax payers would end up paying more for housing of people who contribute less.
Not saying that we should leave people on the streets but it should not rely completely on tax payers. This is another part of their progressive agenda.
Create clean energy jobs
“Clean energy jobs” will end with less jobs. This means that there will be more regulations on businesses and their operation cost will increase. Increased operation cost will lead to less jobs and or higher priced goods. Either way this will not help to boost our economy.
Creating jobs for young people
Democrats cannot do this if they want to raise wages, share corporate profits, and create clean energy jobs. All of these will take jobs away from younger people.
Reining in Wall Street
Recently we have seen many scandals on Wall Street and that type of behavior needs to be monitored but it seems that Democrats will just want to eliminate profits and raise taxes.
Create competition by stopping corporate concentration
Well, with all their proposals on business it will be impossible to create competition. Only the largest corporations would be able to withstand their progressive agenda on business
Make the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes
This is simple, they do. If you’re smart you will find tax breaks but they do pay their “fair share.” If you continue making the wealthy pay more, it will cause for a decrease in jobs because they are the ones creating jobs.
Democrats do not understand that we do not need to tax more but lower the number of people completely dependent on government social programs.
End systematic racism
I’m not going to go in depth on this but a lot of the issues are created by Democrats and they are the ones to continue this issue. They want to make it look like conservatives are racist and continue to add fuel to this fire but they are the “tolerant” party.
Close the racial wealth gap
The wealth gap will be closed when people stop relying on the government, rely on themselves, and want to make a change in their life. It is easier said than done but it is possible, if you are willing to work for it. Take from the rich and giving to the poor will not solve this problem.
Fix campaign finance system
Well, Hillary is under investigation for a very similar violation. Maybe they should fix their own party before saying this. Maybe this is because their funding has pretty much disappeared.
Strengthen management of federal government
This would mean more government employees and higher taxes to pay their salaries. This is another key for the Democrats to implement their progressive agenda. The more government control and employees we have the more issues to arise.
Build clean energy economy
Progressive agenda and would cost our country in more ways than just financially. There is a reason that President Trump left the Paris deal. Businesses will turn to green energy when it becomes the financially possible but that does not mean when the government jacks up the price of energy.
Climate justice
For those of you that don’t know, climate justice is making the biggest polluters pay he amounts of money for adding to climate change. That should say enough. It is a progressive idea and will cause for another loss of jobs. Plus, what are the chances that the money collected from fines would even go towards climate change.
Debt-free college
Debt free college would mean that tax payers would be paying for college educations. Spain has a program like this and they do not have enough jobs for their college grads. They have extremely high taxes, which means their graduates do not make very much, even doctors. Sorry, not everyone can be a doctor.
Support black and minority universities
This is not a bad thing but if they want fairness then they should support all universities the same. Just saying…
Universal health care
Because Obamacare worked out so great. This will be another increase in taxes to cover the cost. Doctors will make less, there will be more paperwork, longer waits to see a doctor, and quality of care will decrease. It happened in Canada and countries in Europe but has yet to work like the Democrats would hope for in their perfect progressive world.
Cut prescription drug cost
Higher taxes, less profit for businesses, less jobs, and loss of off brand alternatives. It wouldn’t help people in the end. That doesn’t mean some drug companies do not need to lower their cost but it needs to be more specific. That all I have on that.
Protect LGBT community
Protect them, they have the right to be happy. Don’t push it on the rest of the country and don’t make the majority change for the minority. President Trump has not taken any rights away from them and he shouldn’t but Democrats want the whole country to conform for them.
Prevent gun violence
Yes, we need to eliminate gun violence but taking guns away from people is not the answer. We have seen how great that has worked in Chicago.
Crack down on the people breaking laws to get guns and using them for the wrong reason. The second amendment is there to protect citizens and that includes taking guns away from law abiding citizens.
These are only some of the DNC’s platform but it is enough to show what they stand for. They are based off progressive ideology and do not want our country to be great again. They want to government to be great, well great in numbers and power. They do not want to give the power to the people. They want a perfect a perfect union but in their minds, that means equality, even if you don’t work for it.
Hopefully this has given you a look into the progressive agenda created by the DNC and gives you a look at what our country could have been dealing with if Trump did not win the election.
