An Insider Look at Media Bias with Nick Harlow – Episode 267

August 8, 2017

On this episode of Blunt Force Truth, Chuck Woolery and Mark Young invite author and news field producer Nick Harlow onto the podcast to discuss media bias. From Harlow’s firsthand experience and the “news” seen across television and the Internet, they consider the ways news stories are slanted with creative editing, language use and selective reporting. Harlow has some incredible stories of bias by omission where news stories that should be broken to the public are silenced for the sake of political connections. Harlow gives some behind-the-scenes information on tricks done in the business to achieve a certain spin.

Nick Harlow is the author of eight political thrillers. He spent more than a decade as a television news reporter and anchor and now works as a freelance field producer for all the major networks. (He is one of the few people in the country who does work for both Fox News and NBC.) His work has taken him from the floors of the Democratic and Republican National Conventions to Ground Zero in New York to Jay Leno’s backyard. His stories have been seen on NBC, ABC and CNN, and he’s been honored for his work by AP and UPI. He is also the co-author of a non-fiction book on the television industry and a journalism textbook.

In addition to his political thrillers, he is a HarperCollins author writing romantic comedies & young adult novels as Nic Tatano. To purchase all of his books, including The Deplorables’ Guide to Fake News and Endgame, visit his Amazon.com author page.
