24-Year Old Stephan Cannon Arrested and Charged in the Murder of David Dorn During St. Louis Riots

Saint Louis Police arrested and charged a suspect in the murder of David Dorn on Sunday.

Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner announced that 24-year old Stephan Cannon is being charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary and three counts of armed criminal action as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm.

77-year old Dorn was a retired St. Louis Police Department Captain, and was defending a friend’s pawn shop when he was shot and killed by a looter. Dorn’s murder was captured by surveillance cameras in a broadcast that was being streamed on Facebook live.

The Saint Louis Police had released footage of looters ransacking Lee’s Pawn and Jewelry, hoping that the public would assist in identifying the men who had been present at the small business the night of Dorn’s murder.
