Democrat and former congressman Anthony Weiner was sentenced to 21 months today for sending obscene material to a 15-year-old high school student in North Carolina.
The AP reported last week that federal prosecutors are looking to sentence Weiner for two years in prison for the act of sexting with a 15-year-old girl. The prosecutors noted that this was not “merely a ‘sexting’ case.. The defendant did far more than exchange typed words on a lifeless cellphone screen with a faceless stranger… transmitting obscenity to a minor to induce her to engage in sexually explicit conduct by video chat and photo is far from mere ‘sexting.’
