Arizona Senator Martha McSally called for the Director of the World Health Organization to step down on Thursday, citing Tedros Adhanon’s suspect ties to the Chinese government and the organization’s inability to properly sound the alarm on the dangers the coronavirus posed to the global community.
McSally cited Adhanon’s Communist ties when calling for his resignation in an interview with Fox Business.
“I’ve never trusted a communist. And their cover-up of this virus that originated with them, has caused unnecessary deaths around America and around the world.”
Adhanon is a member of a left-wing Ethiopian political party called the Tigray People’s Liberation Front. He was formerly a member of the Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front. Both organizations professed an allegiance to Marxist ideology before the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
