An armed school resource officer fired at a school shooter at Great Mills High School in Maryland Tuesday, saving students from harm.
A shooter reportedly opened fire in a school hallway, firing at a student and hitting another student as well.
But it took an armed resource officer to quickly minimize the damage of the shooting by firing upon the shooter and hitting him.
KHOU reports: “An armed school resource officer then exchanged shots with the shooter, Cameron said. “That stopped any further attack or assault or any other student,” Cameron said. The shooter, who has not been identified, was struck.”
The situation at Great Mills was very different than the situation in Parkland, Florida, where 17 high school students were killed while the Broward County Sheriff’s Office set up a perimeter around the school and deputy Scot Peterson refused to enter the building to save lives
