BANNON: Trump Should Postpone State of the Union Until Acquittal by Senate in ‘Trial of the Century’

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is urging his former boss President Donald Trump to hold off on the State of the Union address until after he is acquitted by the Senate following his impeachment by Congress.

Bannon, who hosts the podcast War Room: Impeachment, believes that postponing the address would hurt the efforts of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). He believes that Pelosi is deliberately stalling the impeachment proceedings, in part, to hold it over Trump’s head during the State of the Union.

“Two reasons Nancy Pelosi slow-walked this: One was to find more evidence because they didn’t have it and they’re afraid the guns are going to be turned back on them for a weak case. The second was to make sure she could bigfoot President Trump’s State of the Union. That’s why she slow-walked this whole thing,” Bannon said to reporter Maria Bartiromo while appearing on Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures.
