Sanders, the 76-year-old socialist from Vermont who suffered a heart attack last month, is running a distant third in most polls for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination race. But he’s already measuring the drapes for the Oval Office.
Sanders is promising that if he is elected president, he’ll tap Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to play a “very, very important role” in the White House.
Asked during an ABC News interview, Sanders breathlessly praised his fellow socialist.
“Look, I’ve said this before, let me say it again and I don’t want you to hear this because your head will explode,” Sanders said, looking over to Ocasio-Cortez, who was also there for the interview. […]
