A conspiracy theory blog published an opinion piece Friday deriding President Donald J. Trump for celebrating his major victory over the entrenched political establishment that attempted to destroy him for more than two years.
“Trump is never satisfied with just winning. He has to flaunt it, too,” said a bitter headline in the Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post.
For two years, conspiracy theorists in the mainstream press ruined their own credibility by pushing the RussiaGate hoax on the American public. Even CNN admitted that it’s reporters aren’t “investigators.” Now they’re upset that Trump is dunking on them.
“The president has rarely seen much value in being magnanimous when he wins,” Marc Fisher said. “Now that special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s Russia investigation is finally done, with no further criminal charges forthcoming, Trump is following the same pattern he always has after a triumph: Through half a century in business and politics, his instinct is consistently to keep the battle going, even in victory.”
