Billionaire Tom Steyer plays to empty front row seats as he likens Trump to 9/11 attacks

Money, apparently, can’t buy you everything — specifically, people to sit in the front row of your political event.

Billionaire Tom Steyer — who is using a campaign to impeach President Trump as a launching pad for his own run for the White House — had trouble filling the room during a visit to South Carolina this week.

Steyer was visiting the early primary state when he compared his efforts to those of firefighters running into the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001.

“This society has a history of running towards the fire,” he told the small group.

“If you think about 9/11, there were people running to the fire. And was that the smart thing to do? No, but was that the American thing to do? Very much so,” he said.
