Since Pompeo’s visit, it has been confirmed that Kim is willing talk about denuclearization in a meeting that will “probably” take place in late May, according to President Donald J. Trump.
Pompeo said during his confirmation hearing in front of the Senate that regime change was not the goal of United States in North Korea. His meeting in Pyongyang fits with that narrative.
