CA ‘Fair Political Practices Commission’ subpoenas docs from Maxine Waters opponent — over Facebook post

First, the FBI came knocking about his social media posts.

Then, it was state bureaucrats, who demanded U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters’ Republican opponent, Omar Navarro, produce documents regarding comments he made against burning the American flag.

“An organization @CA_FPPC is supposed to investigate real issues, is being used by Maxine Waters to try to look into me for free speech in the attempt to censor me from attacking a Councilman in Torrance who’s affiliated with burning American Flags,” Navarro posted to Twitter this week, along with a photo of an Aug. 20 letter from the Fair Political Practices Commission.

The letter read:

The subpoena attached to this letter details the records that you are required to produce, to our agency, on or before 9/04/2018. You may e-mail, fax, or mail the requested documents without appearing in-person, so long as you do so before the date indicated on the subpoena.
