Obama’s presidential center has been at the center of controversy for months. Leftists who live in the area don’t want it and have fought its construction. Now the site has been shut down over the cutting down of trees which were supposed to be protected.

The city and Chicago Park District on Monday announced a halt to Obama Presidential Center-related construction in Jackson Park after moving ahead while crucial federal reviews of the project were still ongoing.
