CONFUSION: Elizabeth Warren claims ‘two co-equal branches of government’

A one-time Harvard law professor thinks there’s only two branches of government.

As Elizabeth Warren was attempting to make the case that the Congress is equal to the Executive, she stopped there, wrongly claiming there are “two co-equal branches of government.”

“The president’s party, though, controls the White House and the Senate,” Anderson Cooper told Warren.

“Democrats only control the House. Do you ever think, look, the realistic end game is that Republicans get two-thirds of what they want and the Democrats have to settle for the shorter straw? Is that how the balance of power works?”

“There are two co-equal branches of government, the president of the United States and the Congress,” Warren responded, apparently forgetting the Judiciary.

Warren isn’t the only progressive who is confused about our system of government.

In November, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rallied supporters on Facebook to pitch in and help Democrats take back “all three chambers of Congress.”
