Cory Booker Interrupts Reporter, Refuses to Answer Question on Ilhan Omar Controversy

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) released a new criminal justice bill today that did not garner much enthusiasm, but while at his press conference announcing the legislation, he did run from a question regarding the anti-Semitic remarks made by Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in recent weeks.

“So regarding the controversy surrounding Congresswoman Omar,” the reporter said. Booker immediately cut her off sensing that he might have to make a controversial position.

“So can we do off… the off-topic questions when we finish,” Booker said stammering. “I will happily sit and stand and talk with you about that but is there anything about this piece of legislation that is out there?”

Booker then looked to the small room and found no questions regarding his legislation.
