New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is leading the Democratic Party primary field in a single category – but not the one his new campaign was hoping to lead.
According to a Tuesday Quinnipiac University poll, de Blasio has the highest negative rating among all of the 23 primary contenders. Forty-five percent of Americans view him negatively, and only eight percent positively.
“He’s been hammered by the late-night talk shows and I don’t think you can underestimate those shows as far as the impact they have on the how people feel about politicians,” Quinnipiac analyst Tim Malloy told The New York Post.
