De Blasio Tells Contact Tracers Not To Ask About BLM Rallies

The very idea of contact tracing has long since become an absurdity. And it’s a particular absurdity in New York City where social distancing has collapsed as crowds flock to bars, and parks, and massive protests. But you can’t keep a bad prog government from pursuing its bad ideas. Contact tracing is on the agenda and it must go forward, if only to spend all that warm money burning a hole in their political pockets.

But don’t ask about the war or BLM riots.

The hundreds of contact tracing workers hired by the city under de Blasio’s new “test and trace” campaign have been instructed not to ask anyone who’s tested positive for COVID-19 whether they recently attended a demonstration, City Hall confirmed to THE CITY.

“No person will be asked proactively if they attended a protest,” Avery Cohen, a spokesperson for de Blasio, wrote in an emailed response to questions by THE CITY.
