Democrats don’t think they’ll be able to defeat Donald Trump in 2020, so they have to take him out now.
Congressman Al Green, the leading sponsor of Articles of Impeachment, told MSNBC that Trump must be dealt with now, or Democrats will have to contend with him for another four years after his re-election.

After being told a new poll found 66 percent of Americans don’t support the Congress pursuing impeachment, and being asked if he thought impeachment would actually help Trump’s chances, Green responded, “I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected.
“If we don’t impeach him, he will say that he has been vindicated. He will say the Democrats had an overwhelming majority in the House and they didn’t take up impeachment,” Green said, claiming Democrats intend to confront a “constitutional crisis,” citing “refusing to comply with subpoenas” as his justification.
