Independent candidate Tim Canova has filed an amended complaint in the Second Judicial Circuit in Leon County, Florida to contest the results of his electoral race against Democrat congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz in Florida’s 23rd Congressional District.
The complaint is filed against the Elections Canvassing Commission and Wasserman-Schultz herself. Canova supported Bernie Sanders in the 2016 election.
“As you will see, it’s a strong complaint based on allegations that there was a breakdown in the chain of custody of both the paper ballots and the electronic voting machines (which had wireless cellular modems on them), and almost 98,000 votes for Wasserman Schultz with no indication of how and when those votes were cast,” Tim Canova tells Big League Politics.
