WASHINGTON — Text messages and other communications show fired EPA official Kevin Chmielewski and Department of the Interior staffer Alex Hinson plotting to undermine their bosses Scott Pruitt (EPA) and Ryan Zinke (Interior) by leaking negative stories to the press.
More than a half a dozen sources have come forward to identify Chmielewski and Hinson as the people responsible for the leaks, and they are using Democrat allies in the Senate to ramp up the pressure on Pruitt.
Sources confirm that Chmielewski and Hinson have spoken about their plan to take out Pruitt and Zinke while drunk at happy hours in Washington, D.C. Text messages show that Chmielewski taped an interview with television host Megyn Kelly.
Hinson, whose personal cell phone is now subject to official federal government review because he lost his government-issued cell phone, is said to have moved back home with his parents this week as the internal controversy rages. […]
