President Donald J. Trump took decisive action and revoked the security clearance of a former high level intelligence official on Wednesday.
“[John] Brennan’s lying and recent conduct characterized by increasingly frenzied commentary is wholly inconsistent with access to the nation’s most closely held secrets and facilities, the very aim of our adversaries which is to sow division and chaos,” said White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
John Brennan was the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from 2013 to 2017, and was the United States Homeland Security Advisor from 2009 to 2013.
“The President has a constitutional responsibility to protect classified information and who has access to it,” Sanders said.
