Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) said on the Hugh Hewitt Show Tuesday morning that Dr. Christine Blasey Ford has not confirmed her appearance at next Monday’s hearing and that she has ignored repeated efforts by Grassley’s staff to make contact with her “in the last 36 hours.” Grassley raised the possibility of canceling the hearing.
Ford came forward over the weekend to confirm a letter she wrote last summer to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), the ranking member on the committee, accusing–without evidence or corroboration–Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assaulting her at a drunken high school party.
