Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer glossed over Tara Reade’s allegations of sexual assault against Democratic Presidential candidate Joe Biden during an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on Sunday, dismissing the allegations at Biden’s denial alone. Whitmer had previously accepted Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations of Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulting her, a standard she declined to apply to Reade.
Tapper, who occasionally deviates from CNN’s strict obedience and promotion of the Democratic Party, pointed out that Reade’s allegation has demonstrably more corroboration than Ford’s did. This doesn’t mean that Reade’s allegation is true, but it does go to show the partisan hypocrisy of the Democratic Party and Whitmer; declining to recognize a sexual assault claim against a member of their party while rushing to judgement on an allegation against a conservative judge.

Whitmer declined to recognize a “pattern that goes into this,” ignoring the numerous complaints of invasive personal behavior against Biden by several women and girls.
