President Donald Trump could not have obstructed justice regarding the investigation into General Michael Flynn because Flynn was no longer under active investigation when the White House became aware of his troubles.
Journalist Paul Sperry explains that Sally Yates made it clear to the White House that Flynn was not under investigation, and showed the White House a document that confirms it. Thus, there was no investigation for President Trump to obstruct in the Flynn case. Robert Mueller has given himself until September 1 to try to find obstruction of justice on Trump’s part.
