HORROR: Remains Of 63 Fetuses Discovered In Second Detroit Funeral Home

In a widening investigation of metro Detroit funeral homes, Detroit police raided the Perry Funeral Home near Warren where the remains of 63 fetuses have been discovered and removed. State inspectors say the funeral home is under investigation on allegations of mishandling remains and fraud, according to the Detroit News.

37 fetuses were found in cardboard boxes and 26 in a freezer, according to police. Custody of the remains was turned over to state investigators, who immediately declared the business closed and suspended its license, according to a statement from Michigan Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, finding “heinous conditions and negligent conduct.”

The decision to close the facility came after Friday’s inspection which uncovered  “an imminent threat to the public health and safety,” LARA spokesman Jason Moon said in a press release.

During a press conference on Friday, Detroit Police Chief James Craig said that the Perry Funeral Home had been alleged to have improperly disposed of the fetuses.
