MEADOWS: President Trump Is Not Backing Down On The Wall

House Freedom Caucus chairman Mark Meadows of North Carolina is making it clear that President Donald Trump is not backing down on his desire for $5 billion in border Wall money.

Meadows, basing his belief on actual conversations with the president, showed resolve in his CNN interview Wednesday. Meadows and his colleagues Jim Jordan and Louie Gohmert have been key operators in the fight for Wall funding. (Here’s the Clip of the CNN phone interview).

“I can tell you, if they believe this President is going to yield on this particular issue, they’re misreading him, misreading the American people,” Meadows stated, throwing cold water on the Democrats’ $1.3 billion counter-offer.

Since President Donald Trump’s base does not mind that the government is shut down, and since the stock market is back up Wednesday, Trump is in a much stronger negotiating position than Chuck Schumer and the Democrats, who are fighting to leave the border un-walled and open to continued invasion by criminal drug cartels.
