In the “flew under the radar” category of the 2018 midterm election cycle is the fact that Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Robert Francis ‘Beto’ O’Rourke has a billionaire father-in-law.
“Young Beto O’Rourke casts himself as the ‘anti-Trump’. But his father-in-law, it turns out, is a billionaire property developer with a contentious relationship with non-white residents — not unlike the President. Beto’s more the proto-Jared Kushner,” said the Spectator.
Indeed, O’Rourke has billed himself as something of a grassroots-built populist. He brags about going to high school in El Paso, Texas, though he only did one year there before transferring to one of the most expensive boarding schools in America. He speaks Spanish, and gave himself a Latino nickname in order to better relate with the Hispanic constituency in Texas. But the fraud is much deeper than that.
