Mississippi Senate Candidate Calls on ‘Republican’ Opponent to Return Silicon Valley Democrat Donation

A Republican candidate for U.S. Senate from Mississippi is calling on his main opponent to return donations that she received from a Democrat Silicon Valley billionaire.

“U.S. Senate candidate Chris McDaniel is calling on Cindy Hyde-Smith to demand that her Super PAC return the $250,000 dollars accepted from one of Hillary Clinton’s largest donors, Napster and Facebook co-founder Sean Parker,” said McDaniel’s campaign in a press release.

Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) was appointed by Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant to replace retired Sen. Thad Cochran (R-MS) earlier this year. Hyde, a former Democrat, changed her party affiliation to run for statewide office in 2011, knowing that she could not win as a Democrat in a red state.
