NBC ADMITS: Trump’s Right, His Media Coverage IS Mostly Negative

“Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t after you,” author Joseph Heller wrote in Catch-22.

As it turns out, President Trump isn’t paranoid — most of the coverage of him and his administration really has been negative.

A new study of the early days of the Trump presidency shows that 62% of the coverage was negative — and just 5% was positive.

“In contrast, President Barack Obama’s coverage in early 2009 was 42% positive and 20% negative, the study said,” NBC reports.

The study, conducted by the Pew Research Center, found that “coverage of Trump was primarily focused on ‘character and leadership’ versus policy.”

The study also showed that only 2 percent of stories from outlets with a right-leaning audience refuted statements made by Trump or his administration, while 15 percent of stories carried by left-leaning outlets questioned the administration.

“It certainly shows that where people turn for news has implications for what they’re hearing about President Trump,” said Amy Mitchell, Pew’s director of journalism research.

The study looked at online general news sites with at least 20 million average unique monthly visitors, according to Pew, as well as the cable networks CNN, Fox News and MSNBC, and the evening news programs from the broadcast networks and PBS. Top talk radio shows and National Public Radio were also included.

This is the second time in three days that a liberal news outlet has admitted Trump was right about… something, anything.

On Sunday, CNN host John King said that NFL owners have the data showing Trump was right when he said the protests by players are bringing TV ratings down. “NFL owners so far siding with their players for their right to free speech, but they’re also keeping close tabs on the financial impact and the public relations impact of this confrontation,” King said.

King also said the NFL owners have the raw data “clearly showing the president is right” when he claimed that ratings are dropping because of protests during the national anthem, when players have taken a knee or skipped the ceremony altogether.

“Since the president weighed in, the owners are now dealing with a surge in ticket holder requests for refunds,” King said.

Data from the first three weeks of the NFL show ratings have dropped by at least 10% compared to last season, according to USA Today.
