NBC Spreads Fake News About Sworn Declarations “Corroborating” Kavanugh Accuser’s Claims

A formerly-trusted media titan spread fake news Tuesday about obtaining sworn declarations from four people who allegedly corroborated reports of sexual misconduct by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

“NEW: has obtained sworn and signed declarations from 4 people who corroborate Christine Blasey Ford’s claims of sexual assault against Kavanaugh, sent to Senate Cmte,” said NBC’s Peter Alexander on Twitter.

In the first Tweet, Alexander attached two declarations that do indeed name Kavanaugh. Then, he attached a second Tweet to the thread.

“Here are the other 2 sworn declarations corroborating Ford’s claims against Kavanaugh,” he said.

The problem with the second two declarations is that they do not name Kavanaugh at all. It is impossible to corroborate a claim against a person without actually naming the person.
