Potential incoming Department of Homeland Security (DHS) chief Kris Kobach flashed his 365-day plan for national security during a meeting in New Hampshire with President Donald Trump. An Associated Press photographer caught the writing on Kobach’s binder, and it reveals a commonsense approach to the American immigration crisis.
This move was first pulled by John Bolton, who let reporters catch his own notes at a press conference. Those notes included Bolton’s plan to send ground troops into Venezuela — a priority for neocons disenchanted by President Trump’s refusal to start new wars in the Middle East after Trump essentially destroyed ISIS. But a new war in the Western Hemisphere would be a strategic misfire while our own southern border is open and accessible to terrorists and criminal cartels.
