Nancy Pelosi doesn’t think Americans even care about the State of the Union address.
While addressing reporters on Thursday, the House Speaker downplayed the significance of the President’s annual speech.

“Last night, the President accepted the fact that the State of the Union should be at a time— State of the Union address should be at a time when we can talk about the state of the union when the government is not shut down,” Pelosi said.
“I’m glad we could get that off the table,” saying how her decision to uninvite the President will bring clarity to the situation.
