Pennsylvania Democrats Introduce Firearms Registration

Is firearms registration coming to Pennsylvania?

According to a report from John Crump at Ammoland.com, Pennsylvania Democrats have introduced HB 768, the Firearms Registration Act. The Democrats introducing this bill are Mary Louise Isaacson, Angel Cruz, and Mary Jo Daley.

The bill was recently referred to the Judiciary Committee.

Under the Firearms Registration Act, gun owners would be forced to register their firearms with the Pennsylvania State Police. Then, they would have to provide law enforcement the make, model, and serial numbers of all their firearms.

On top of that, applicants must also submit an application with fingerprints, two photos that are no older than 30 days, and be subject to a background check for each firearm that they own.

And this is only the tip of the iceberg. Gun owners must also hand over to the Pennsylvania State Police their home and work addresses, telephone number, social security number, date of birth, age, sex, and citizenship. To put this in perspective, these requirements are stiffer than the requirements needed for voting.
