A failed U.S. Senate candidate from Texas is polling well among Democrats for a potential 2020 bid for president.
“[State] Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) is considered one of the top Democratic contenders for the White House in 2020 even among more well-known potential hopefuls, according to a Harvard CAPS/Harris poll released exclusively to The Hill,” according to The Hill.
Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke, the Latino who wasn’t, is tracking behind former Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) According to the poll, Biden leads among Democrats with 28 percent, Sanders is at 21 percent and O’Rourke is at seven percent.
The report said that Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Corey Booker (N.J.) and Kamala Harris (Calif.) “polled in the low single digits.”
