The liberal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that President Donald J. Trump is not allowed to restrict asylum seekers from entering the country, a move which prompted the President to blast the court.
“The Ninth Circuit — we’re going to have to look at that,” Trump said to a gaggle of reporters. He called the court’s overwhelmingly liberal makeup a “disgrace.”
The court issued a temporary restraining order blocking a Nov. 9 proclamation made by Trump in an effort to restrict the number of asylum seekers who crossed the border illegally. The judge who decided the case was Jon S. Tigar, an Obama appointee, according to multiple reports.
