If Joe Biden is considering a presidential run in 2020, his latest speech and heaping praise for former President George W. Bush could cause some problems.
While speaking on Sunday at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, the former vice president presented the Liberty Medal to Bush and his wife, former First Lady Laura Bush.
Throughout his speech, protesters could be heard outside screaming, shouting, blowing whistles, and, at one point, blaring a siren to protest the award.
The noise from the protesters was so loud, both Biden and the Bush’s appeared uncomfortable and, at times, even a little flustered.
According to Philly.com, roughly 30 protesters — veterans and others — disrupted the ceremony to protest U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
“No awards for endless wars,” one protester said, blaming Bush for war in Iraq following the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, which resulted in nearly 3,000 Americans being killed.
