Report: NFL Considers 15-yard Penalty for Kneeling During National Anthem

NFL players who choose to kneel during the national anthem may soon face a huge penalties.

After a wave of national anthem protests, which were started by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, owners of NFL reportedly met Tuesday to discuss how to address how the league will handle players kneeling during the national anthem going forward.

The home team would get to decide if both teams stay in their locker room for the anthem or if both teams head out to the field. If the home team would decide whether both sides should be on the field during the Star Spangle Banner, 15-yard penalties would be handed out if anyone kneels.
