Republican National Committee Files Lawsuit to Halt California’s Mail-in Ballot Election Drive

The Republican National Committee is filing a lawsuit to stop California’s drive to implement a mass mail-in ballot system, which the state’s Democratic governor claims is necessary in the light of the coronavirus epidemic.

Election integrity watchdogs are warning that the initiative, which will ensure that a mail-in ballot is sent to every single nominally eligible voter in California, will represent a ‘nightmare scenario’ for voter fraud.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniels slammed the state’s totally arbitrary decision to implement an untested and rushed mail-in election format, just months before a presidential election.

Democrats continue to use this pandemic as a ploy to implement their partisan election agenda, and Governor Newsom’s executive order is the latest direct assault on the integrity of our elections,” said the RNC chair. “Newsom’s illegal power grab is a recipe for disaster that would destroy the confidence Californians deserve to have in the security of their vote.
