Senator Gillibrand Campaigned With a Rapist and Should Resign

Senator Gillibrand, a local hack with the right family ties appointed to fill Hillary Clinton’s seat, who has no conceivable qualifications for the job, has done nothing to justify her time in the Senate and would never have been able to keep her seat if New York elections weren’t becoming as hopelessly one state as California, is calling on President Trump to resign.

If Gillibrand wants to get the resignation train going, she can start with herself.

Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (N.Y.) said Thursday that Bill Clinton should have resigned the presidency over his relationship with Monica Lewinsky, although she campaigned alongside him for both her and Hillary Clinton’s runs for office after he left the White House and previously said she was “truly honored” by his support.

Gillibrand goes way back with the Clintons. She worked for Hillary Clinton’s successful 2000 U.S. Senate campaign, and Bill Clinton campaigned for her first run for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006. Gillibrand has also spoken glowingly of Hillary influencing her to get involved in politics, and she has frequently complimented Bill over the course of her career.

“I was lucky enough to receive guidance and mentorship from Hillary during that run, and was truly honored that President Bill Clinton campaigned for me in my first run for Congress in 2006,” she wrote in an op-ed explaining her endorsement of Hillary’s White House bid.

Gillibrand and Bill Clinton campaigned together in New York in April 2016 on behalf of Hillary Clinton, and Gillibrand tweeted they had a “great time.”

“I hope you’re as excited as I am that we have President Clinton here in Watertown!” Gillibrand said as she introduced the 42nd president in Watertown.

Gillibrand has already admitted that Bill Clinton should resign. Too late for that. But she can resign for campaigning with a rapist.
