Trey Gowdy apeared on Face the Nation this weekend. The moderator Margaret Brennan tried to box him into a corner by suggesting that he is a divisive political figure, but Gowdy fired back and turned the table on her in the process.

Brennan attempted to frame the Gowdy’s calls for unity as hypocritical in light of his participation in what she described as “divisive” House investigations:
A lot of people in Washington, when they hear that you are issuing a call for unity, will say, he’s been associated with two of the most divisive, politically heated probes in Washington: the probe into what happened in Benghazi, and the most recent House Intelligence probe into Russian election meddling.
