President Donald Trump called the leader of the European Union a “brutal killer” during his visit to the G-7 summit in Canada, where he wrangled with Canadian prime minister Justin Trudea, German chancellor Angela Merkel, and others.
Trump’s disdain for the European Union has been well known since he helped to fight for Brexit in 2016, celebrating Great Britain’s departure from the EU at one of his golf courses in Scotland.
Bloomberg reports: “Trump told me last week ‘you are a brutal killer,”’ Juncker, a Luxembourger, said during a speech to the Bavarian Parliament in Munich on Thursday. “That’s the first time that Luxembourg has grown into such a threat to the U.S. I think he meant it as a compliment, but I’m not so sure.”
