The left-leaning New York Times is distancing itself from the Clinton campaign following a bombshell report that the DNC was behind the debunked Trump Dossier; saying Hillary’s lawyer “pushed back” when the newspaper “tried to report” the story.
Two prominent journalists from the Times publicly lashed-out at the Clinton camp on social media, saying DNC lawyers “pushed back” on the story when the newspaper began probing the debunked Trump Dossier months ago.
“When I tried to report this story, Clinton campaign lawyer @marceelias pushed back vigorously, saying “You (or your sources) are wrong,” posted reporter Kenneth Vogel.
“Folks involved in funding this lied about it, and with sanctimony, for a year,” wrote Maggie Haberman, the White House correspondent for the NY Times.

The Clintons and Democrat National Committee financed the Trump Dossier through October 2016; ending just weeks before Hillary’s stunning defeat to then-candidate Trump.
People close to the investigation say Clinton’s law firm received upwards of $5.6 million from the Hillary campaign, and $3.6 million from the DNC for “legal and compliance consulting” dating back to the fall of 2015.
