Nearly $2.8 million donated to Planned Parenthood affiliates in 2016 throughout the United States was by local chapters of the charity United Way, and according to a new report from a conservative charity watchdog, funded an estimated 2,901 abortions.
The United Way website maintains that “United Way Worldwide does not control funding decisions by local United Ways,” and that less than 3% of those local chapters actually support Planned Parenthood facilities, or “less than one tenth of one percent of total United Way revenue.”
The United Way website also claims the group’s mission is only to improve people’s income, health and education worldwide via a handful of charitable volunteer programs and ventures.
