The student body president at the University of Florida is facing calls for impeachment over having Donald Trump Jr. and Kimberly Guilfoyle speak on campus last month.
Michael C. Murphy was sent a formal impeachment resolution on Tuesday because he paid the couple $50,000 in publicly funded student activity fees for their appearance.
The resolution claims that he misappropriated the money to further his “own expressed political beliefs,” and endangered students who were “marginalized by the speakers’ white nationalist supporters.” It also claims that Murphy conspired with an official for Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign. The document was signed by approximately 100 students and alumni.
