Welfare State: More Than 70% of California’s Immigrant Households Use Government Assistance

A new study by the Center for Immigration Studies has revealed that seven out of 10 immigrant families in California use welfare, according to Breitbart.

“The latest Census Bureau data analyzed by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS) finds that about 72 percent of households headed by noncitizens and immigrants use one or more forms of taxpayer-funded welfare programs in California — the number one immigrant-receiving state in the U.S.,” the report said.

Only 35 percent of households headed by native born Americans use such assistance.

According to the report, the four states with largest immigrant populations have high rates of taxpayer-funded welfare usage. Texas’ numbers are almost identical to California’s for immigrant and native-born welfare usage, and in New York and Florida, about 63 percent of immigrant-headed households use welfare while 35 percent of native-born households use welfare.
